Senate Prepares for Trial of Federal Judge
A special U.S. Senate committee is scheduled to begin the impeachment trial of G. Thomas Porteous Jr. next week. The rarely held proceeding will determine the future of the New Orleans federal district judge, who is accused of decades of corruption, including an alleged kickback scheme with a law firm.
