Pfizer Allegedly Schemed To Keep Generic Lipitor Off the Market

Five suits consolidated in New Jersey federal court allege that Pfizer and Ranbaxy entered a "pay for delay" deal to postpone a generic version of the cholesterol-reducing drug Lipitor. Much is at stake in the litigation, since, the plaintiffs say, Lipitor is the best-selling drug in the history of the pharmaceutical business.
