Orrick Comes to MGA’s Rescue in Bratz Doll Fight
To change or not to change -- lawyers, that is. That was the question faced by Mattel and MGA Entertainment as their epic battle over the Bratz dolls moved to the 9th Circuit. For MGA, which lost at trial, its decision to add new lawyers from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe looks smart. Wednesday, the company won a major victory when it convinced the 9th Circuit to put on hold a recall of the Bratz dolls that had been ordered last year by a Los Angeles district court judge.
