Lawyer for Accused Fort Hood Shooter Details Client’s Terms of Confinement
Texas solo John Galligan, the lawyer representing Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist who allegedly went on a shooting spree at Fort Hood on Nov. 5, says he has learned the precise terms of pretrial confinement for his client, who Galligan says is paralyzed from the chest down and bedridden in a military hospital in San Antonio. Galligan says he believes the rules may violate the Uniform Code of Military Justice that bars pretrial confinement from being more onerous than necessary.
