In DOJ’s E-Books Price Fixing Case, Holdout Publisher Agrees to SettleC

Holtzbrinck Publishers, which does business as Macmillan, has agreed to a settlement with the government, under which the company will lift restrictions on discounting and other promotions by e-book retailers and will be prohibited until December 2014 from entering into new agreements with similar restrictions. This sets the stage for a showdown between federal prosecutors and Apple later this year.
