Fulbright Wins Dismissal of Defamation Suit Against Dixie Chicks Singer

December 4, 2009

Fulbright & Jaworski lawyers on Tuesday won the dismissal of a defamation suit against Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines. The action against Maines stemmed from public comments she had made about the West Memphis Three, convicted for the murders of several 8-year-old boys in the mid-1990s. Moved by two HBO documentaries on the case, Maines rallied support for the West Memphis Three and posted information on the Dixie Chicks' Web site that pointed to another person as being a suspect in the killings.
