Florida Supreme Court loosens lawyer advertising rules

In a long-awaited decision, the Florida Supreme Court has imposed new advertising rules for lawyers that apply looser standards for TV, print and billboards but stricter standards for websites. Unless the rules are challenged on First Amendment grounds, the decision appears to cut off a debate that has engaged the court, the Florida Bar, law firms and public interest groups like Public Citizen for at least five years.
