Flood Shuts Down Fla. Courthouse — Again

December 2, 2008

Extensive flooding closed the main Broward County courthouse in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Monday for the second time this year, according to a spokesman. The flooding, from a water main break, knocked out the building's communications center, leaving phone lines and computers down and courthouse operations suspended for the rest of the week. In February, the courthouse shut down due to flooding from a backed-up sewer pipe.
