Federal public defender found dead in apparent suicide
Assistant federal public defender Thomas J. "Jake" Waldrop was found dead in his car at the State Bar of Georgia parking deck on Tuesday. An Atlanta police report said Waldrop was killed by a single gunshot to the chest. A rifle was found in the vehicle along with a handwritten note, according to the report, which said the scene appeared to be "consistent with that of a suicide."
