5th Circuit Affirms Third Denial of Bail for Allen Stanford
The third time wasn't the charm for R. Allen Stanford. A three-judge panel of the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has affirmed U.S. District Judge David Hittner's decision denying bail to Stanford on the ground he's a flight risk. In a nonpublished decision, the panel found that Stanford, in his third request to be released from pretrial detention, presented no new evidence that called for Hittner to re-evaluate his conclusions.
